Coach Karl - All4Fit / Meet Your Coach

Karl Mergille

I am a certified personal trainer and nutritionist. I have been training for the past 12 years and coaching for the past 8.

I was overweight in high school. I had love handles. I had a stomach I could not stand looking down at. I hid behind baggy clothes, baggy sweatpants, baggy shirts, because I did not want anyone to see what I saw. I felt invisible, and I spent most of my life stuck in my own head about the way I looked.

So when I started my own weight loss journey, it was never just about the number on the scale. It was about getting out of my own head, being able to take my shirt off at the beach or the pool without flinching, and actually liking the person looking back at me.

I tried keto. I tried every diet everyone else was trying. None of it worked, because none of it was something I could actually stick to. It was not until I started taking nutrition classes that I found a way to eat that let me lose the weight, keep it off, and build real strength, without starving myself or living like a rabbit for the rest of my life.

Then, toward the end of college, I tore my ACL. Not once, twice, along with my MCL and cartilage in the same knee. That injury put me right back in the exact place I had fought so hard to get out of, doubting myself, feeling like I was destined to fall apart again. But the habits I had already built gave me something to hold onto. After surgery and physical therapy, I got back in the gym, back to squatting, and back to the version of myself I had worked to become.

At the time, I was running my coaching business out of my garage with about 60 clients. After tearing the same knee twice playing basketball with friends, in 2020 and again in 2021, I will be honest, there were moments I wanted to walk away completely. But I kept showing up, because I knew what it felt like on the other side of giving up, and I was not willing to go back there.

Eventually I moved my coaching online, because I realized something training alone could never fix. People would train hard with me, go home, eat 5 slices of pizza, and ask themselves why they did it. Training was never the missing piece. The missing piece was learning how to actually eat in a way you can live with, and understanding why you overeat or snack late at night in the first place. You believed something was wrong with you. That is not true. It happens because nobody ever showed you a different way.

This is exactly what I bring into every relationship with my clients now. Not just a training plan, but an understanding of the habits and the mindset that got you here, so you can actually change them for good.

If you have ever told yourself your situation is the exception, your age, your schedule, your body, your history of starting over, I understand that more than most coaches ever will, because I have told myself the same thing.

Why You Haven't Lost It Yet

It's Not You. It's The Plan.

If you cannot seem to lose weight, it is not an effort problem. Your approach to training, nutrition, and recovery is simply not putting you in a position to actually lose weight and keep it off. You have tried cutting carbs. You have tried moving fast. You have tried the supplements. You have tried the group classes. You put in the effort, but the weight keeps coming back.

What you actually need is an approach built around your life, one that gets the weight off and keeps it off for good. Your body is not broken. Your plan is.

Nicole believed her weight meant something could go wrong at any moment, until the day it did. Ray could not sit down with 2 slices of pizza without it turning into 6. Liliana was convinced menopause had permanently closed the door. Chrisla was told her PCOS meant this simply was not possible for her body. Kyle had the drive but never the actual structure. Paul had the equipment and the time, but never a plan built specifically around his life.

None of them were broken. So what you have to do is build the habits, structure, and consistency that create long term success. That is exactly what works.

Over time, we use what we learn from the first few weeks and months of training, and how your body responds to it, and from there we make the adjustments that keep moving you in the right direction. Over time, those adjustments become new habits. Those adjustments become the foundation. Those adjustments become what actually leads you toward losing the weight and keeping it off.

Then we remove the tracking. We establish trust between your mind and your body. And I show you how to use the tools you learn along the way to maintain your results for life, so you never have to go on another weight loss journey again.

The goal was never to make you dependent on one single thing, a supplement, a diet, that magically gets you there. The goal is to educate you well enough that you are confidently managing your own nutrition and training for the rest of your life, so you lose the weight, keep it off, and manage it completely on your own terms.

So if you are stuck, apply below, and we will see if you are a good fit for the program.

Training built around what you can do right now. Nicole was at 497 pounds, she could not train like someone starting at 250 pounds trying to lose 40. Her goal was to lose 200-plus. We train you where you are today, so we can build you up and get you stronger and healthier over the long run.
This is not about following a guide. It is about learning the basic nutrition and habits your body actually needs to lose the weight and keep it off forever. Guides only take you so far. Once you learn the foundations of food and identify the habits that have been holding you back, overeating, late night snacking, that becomes the key to results that actually last.
I am not a believer in just one weekly check-in. Yes, we have a weekly check-in, but every day I am looking at what you are eating, how your training went, and asking you questions that make you think on a deeper level. This is not a sheet you fill out once a week, it is me mentoring you and showing you exactly what you need to do.
Yes, I will keep you accountable, but there are times we need to hop on a call, or a Zoom, so I can show you how to train properly, or dig into what is actually holding you back. I am always willing to go above and beyond for my clients. At any point, I am a text or call away, so you never feel stuck or alone.
Paul had a bad back. Kaleef had a bad shoulder. We start you where you can actually handle it, then build you up through a program that shows you how to train around your limitations while strengthening your weaknesses. Paul is playing hockey again with no pain. If you are afraid to start because of pain, know you can work through it, and you kind of have to, because otherwise it just gets worse and limits what you can do every day. Do not wait. Taking action is the best course of action.
I am not here to be a fad. I am here to show you the foundation you need to lose the weight and keep it off for the rest of your life. Most coaches tell you that you can lose it in 30 or 90 days. You do not need 90 days. You need a plan that helps you see food, training, and self accountability in a completely different way, because that is what you have actually been missing, not another 30 or 90 day program. My goal is to build you for life, not just 30 days.

I only take on 10 new clients each month, no less, no more. As the only coach here, that is what lets me actually prioritize your nutrition, your training, and your accountability the way it deserves. Spots tend to fill up fast.

Real questions

The questions busy people losing weight actually ask.

This is for people who are serious about long term success, who want to lose the weight and actually keep it off for life. This is not for someone looking for a quick fix, someone who wants to lose weight for 3 months and then watch it come right back. If that is what you are looking for, this is not what we do. What I do is help you lose the weight and build a sustainable lifestyle around it for the rest of your life.
Yes. The program is built for people who have not trained seriously in years or have not stayed consistent in a long time. We do not start where you used to be. We start where you are right now and build back up the smart way. Most clients are coming back after years of inconsistency, weight gain, or life getting in the way.
Yes. This is one of the biggest reasons my coaching works for busy adults trying to lose weight without adding more pain to their day. I tore my ACL twice in the same knee, so I understand what it takes to rebuild around real limitations. Your program is built around your specific limitations, not against them. We strengthen what has been weak, improve how you move, and stop forcing your body through training it is not ready for.
Most clients train 3 to 4 days per week for about 45 minutes per session. The goal is not to bury you with more work. The goal is to build the right plan so you can stay consistent, recover, and keep progressing even with a busy schedule.
Both work. If you have a gym, great. If you train at home, we build around the equipment you have. Your equipment does not decide your results. Consistency, progression, and coaching do.

This is a premium, 1 on 1 coaching program, typically a 3 to 4 figure investment depending on the length and structure that fits you best.

With this, you get direct access to me, Karl, as your coach. I take the time to actually learn about your struggles and what has been holding you back, and I stay consistently accountable with you through texting and calling, not a generic weekly check-in. We collect the data points we need along the way, calories, macros, training volume, intensity, frequency, exercise selection, and use that to make real adjustments so you keep moving the needle forward. This is for people who want coaching, accountability, and a real plan built around them, not the cheapest option out there. Exact pricing is covered after your application, once I know where you're starting from and what you actually need.
  1. I personally review every application, there is no team filtering these, it is me.
  2. If it looks like a good fit, I will send you a text to book a quick call.
  3. On that call, we go over your application together and talk through how you can actually move the needle forward, even if it turns out we are not the right fit, I will still point you toward what will help.
  4. If we are a good fit, I will offer you a spot in the program, and we will get started on your plan to lose the weight and keep it off for good.
YouTube gives you exercises. Coaching gives you a plan, adjustments, accountability, and someone who can help you make the right decision when life gets messy. The difference is not just the workout. The difference is having someone coach you through the process.
